Job summary

Vessev seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to own hydrofoil systems from concept through production. You’ll design foils, control surfaces, and propulsion interfaces with a fast-moving team.

Expect hands-on prototyping, CAD, FEA, and close collaboration with manufacturing to deliver high-performance, lightweight solutions for electric marine vessels. You’ll iterate rapidly in Auckland, shaping a category-defining product and engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years designing complex mechanical systems.
• Proven track record from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Hydro-surface design and optimisation.
• Mechanical systems for foil retraction and control surfaces.
• Propulsion systems integration with foil geometry.
• Integration of foils into the vessel platform.
• Prototype, run FEA, and validate designs against load cases.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production feasibility.
