Job summary

Grant Thornton New Zealand is seeking an Internal Audit Analyst to join the Internal Audit and Risk team in Auckland. You will assist in planning, execution and reporting across client engagements, helping evaluate risk controls and governance processes.

You will work with data, analysis and collaboration to deliver insights, improve controls, and support client service requirements while meeting regulatory standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (CA, CIA, CPA) advantageous.
• 2–3 years in internal or external audit, risk management or procurement.
• Understanding of risk management, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in internal audit, risk management, procurement and project process improvements including planning, execution and reporting.
• Assess risks and develop audit programs and testing procedures.
• Deliver risk management projects and assist in client service delivery.
• Analyze controls, ensure compliance with policies, and prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Work with data to provide assurance evidence and client insights.
