Job summary

Grant Thornton New Zealand is seeking an Internal Audit and Risk professional to support internal audit, risk management, procurement and project engagements while following professional standards. You will help evaluate controls, plan and test, and deliver actionable recommendations in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidate has 2–3 years in internal/external audit or risk management, with a bachelor’s in accounting/finance and a professional certification advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Relevant professional certification (CA, CIA, CPA) an advantage.
• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management or procurement.
• Understanding of risk management principles, internal auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to convey complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Power BI and Tableau are beneficial.
• Sound knowledge of data modelling techniques is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in internal audit, risk management, procurement and project process improvement engagements.
• Assist in planning, execution, and reporting of audits.
• Assess risks and develop audit programs and testing procedures.
• Deliver risk management projects and support client service requirements.
• Analyze data and evaluate internal controls; provide recommendations.
