Job summary

Datacom in Wellington is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead large-scale data centre and infrastructure initiatives from initiation to closure. You will shape delivery approaches, coordinate resources, and ensure governance, quality, scope, budget, and timing.

You'll work with senior stakeholders, technical specialists, and vendors to deliver disciplined delivery and a smooth handover into operations, while maintaining clear reporting and strong partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large or complex technical infrastructure projects.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies and dependencies.
• Strong project management across scope, time, cost, quality, communications, risk, procurement and integration.
• Experience with customers and senior stakeholders, including third-party vendors.
• Strong financial literacy: cost estimation, forecasting, budget tracking and reporting.
• Leadership, negotiation, influencing, problem-solving and dispute resolution skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Science, Engineering, Economics or related discipline.
• Project Management, PRINCE2, PMI or Agile certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex data centre and infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle.
• Define delivery approaches, plans, schedules, resources and governance to support successful outcomes.
• Manage scope, budget, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and change across concurrent workstreams.
• Build and guide collaborative project teams working in complex, multi-platform technical environments.
• Coordinate design, documentation, development, testing and implementation activities.
• Maintain clear reporting and strong relationships with customers, senior stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Manage project financials, including forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis and benefits realisation.
• Develop and manage vendor agreements and third-party relationships that support delivery.
• Plan and oversee the handover of completed projects into operational support.
