Job summary
The University of Waikato Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Senior Digital Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and continually improve enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. You will work across server, virtualization, storage, backup and identity, ensuring security, resilience and alignment with strategic needs.

Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with virtualization (Nutanix preferred).
- Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID experience.
- Security, patching, and hardening expertise.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain and improve core infrastructure platforms.
- Support on-premises and hybrid cloud services across server, virtualization, storage, backup and identity.
- Provide senior technical leadership and mentoring.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, automation initiatives and service improvements.
- Participate in an on-call roster approximately eight times per year.
