Job summary

Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora in Wellington is seeking a public health professional to lead and influence immunisation initiatives under the Polynesian Health Corridors (PHC) programme, strengthening health security across the Pacific.

You will work with governments, health agencies, and Pasifika communities to deliver vaccine-preventable disease programmes, build capability, and drive continuous improvement in planning, tools, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Strong nursing, immunisation, or public health experience with relevant qualifications.
• Experience leading public health programmes from design to delivery.
• Knowledge of Polynesian health priorities and Pasifika communities in NZ.
• Experience providing high-quality advice and working with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills; ability to think strategically.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Nurse Vaccinator Pathway rollout and strengthen immunisation capability.
• Provide expert health security advice and design initiatives on vaccine-preventable diseases.
• Oversee programme activities including procurement, contracts, monitoring, reporting, evaluation.
• Build relationships with country partners, government agencies, health sector stakeholders, Pacific communities.
• Drive continuous improvement across planning, processes, tools, and frameworks for Health Security.
