Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Gisborne is seeking a Senior Business Performance and Improvement Analyst/Decision Support to partner with leaders to guide planning, development, and monitoring of health services. You will provide expert data extraction and analysis to address health outcome inequities and develop analytics tools for forecasting, capacity modelling, and reporting.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification or equivalent or 5+ years experience in a Business Analyst role (preferred); computer science or information systems background accepted.
Understanding of strategic development and planning.
Understanding of data modelling and importance of accuracy.
Experience in project management.
Excellent informatics and analytical skills.
Advanced use of analysis tools including Microsoft Excel.
Ability to interpret and present financial and business data clearly.
Knowledge of statistics and handling large data sets.
Understanding and applying equity considerations for Māori in service delivery.

Responsibilities

Provide expert decision-support for planning, development, implementation and monitoring of health services.
Create business analytics tools for forecasting, trending, capacity modelling, benchmarking and auditing.
Support health service leaders with data-informed insights to address inequities and improve outcomes.
