Job summary

Xero is seeking a Lead Engineer to design and build modern React + Next.js + TypeScript experiences that connect Xero's core ecosystem with our public web presence. You will set the architecture for a multi-site platform and lead one of two engineering pods as the platform grows, focusing on performance and accessibility.

You'll work in a hybrid role based in New Zealand, collaborating with Product, Marketing and Support to bring new ideas to life and improve customer experiences for users

Qualifications

• Deep experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js at architecture level.
• Experience migrating live, high-traffic sites with low-risk planning.
• Strong knowledge of Core Web Vitals and WCAG.
• Coaching engineers and leading teams.
• Ability to influence and advocate for customer-centric decisions.
• Experience in ecommerce, media, agency or high-traffic web environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build modern React + Next.js + TypeScript experiences connecting Xero core ecosystem with public web presence.
• Set the architecture for a multi-site platform integrating React and Salesforce Experience Cloud surfaces.
• Lead one of two engineering pods as the platform grows.
