The New Zealand Government MBIE Energy Markets Branch seeks a Senior Policy Advisor in Wellington to lead policy work ensuring secure, sustainable and affordable energy. You will undertake complex policy analysis, provide authoritative advice and coach teams.

This permanent role offers a collaborative, flexible environment across projects, working with Ministers and stakeholders to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and drive innovative energy policy for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience in applying policy frameworks/tools/approaches to policy analysis and formulating high-quality policy advice.
• Experience and knowledge of the energy sector or international engagement is desirable, but not required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an eye for detail.

Responsabilités

• Undertake complex policy analysis and provide authoritative policy advice.
• Lead complex policy work and teams, coaching and mentoring others.
• Support policy work across the Energy Markets Branch and engage with Ministers and stakeholders.
• Work across a range of projects and teams to deliver on government priorities.
