Job summary

WSP NZ is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Power in Hamilton to contribute to multidisciplinary projects across New Zealand. You will deliver electrical design engineering and provide technical advice, supporting client relationships and project success.

You will develop expertise in power generation, renewables, transmission and distribution, with mentoring toward Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). This role offers growth in a close-knit Power & Energy team.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience with electrical systems; senior track possible with 10+ years.
• Experience in HV or MV power system design.
• Strong knowledge of NZ electrical codes and standards.
• Experience using electrical design modelling software.
• Excellent report writing, communication and attention to detail.
• Collaborative, client-centric and able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Bring technical capability across electrical design for power projects.
• Support project planning and delivery to meet client needs.
• Develop skills in power generation, renewables, transmission and distribution.
