Thomas Consultants is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our Development Engineering team at our NorthWest Town Centre office.

Provide Expert Review: Act as a specialist on behalf of local authorities, taking a leading role in the review of resource consent applications, engineering approvals, and all types of consents all the way through to 224 signoff. Site visits may be required outside of Auckland, depending on local authority requirements. As a senior development engineer you will consider developments from a whole-of-life perspective ensuring that infrastructure is fit for purpose, takes account of ongoing maintenance costs and access, and considers safety in design.
Uphold Standards and good practice: Ensure all engineering plans comply with regulatory documents, Council codes of practice and standards, and sound engineering principles.
Oversee Quality on Site: Conduct construction monitoring to verify that developments are being built in accordance with approved plans and specifications, when needed.
Build Strong Relationships: Deliver excellent customer service, acting as the key liaison between applicants, Council staff, and a range of specialist disciplines.
Collaborate for Success: You will consider applications from a local authority perspective, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve integrated and successful development outcomes.
