Job summary

Fusion5 in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Dynamics 365 Developer to own solution quality end-to-end while mentoring the team on AI-assisted development. The role supports designing, building and maintaining D365 Finance and Operations solutions across our NZ offices.

You will lead enhancements, choose the right technical approaches, and ensure production environments stay stable. A strong SDLC background, experience with Integrations, OData, and DevOps is essential, plus qualifications in

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, ideally including Dynamics AX 2012.
• Confidence working across Integrations, OData and Data Management, Lifecycle Services, DevOps, Power Platform, SQL Server and MorphX.
• A full SDLC background including build, test, deploy and production support.
• A track record of diagnosing and resolving complex production issues at the root cause.

• Lead enhancements, assessing impact, choosing the right technical approach, and balancing quality against delivery speed.
• Own solution quality end-to-end, from testing and peer review through to change and version control
• Keep production environments stable, spotting technical risk early and driving fixes before they become incidents
• Provide sharp, commercially sound estimates and flag budget risk before it bites
• Coach and mentor other developers, lifting capability across the whole team
• Help shape how the team evaluates new tools and strengthens engineering practice — including how we use AI responsibly in development

Fusion5 is going beyond with technology, helping businesses transform through business applications, AI, cloud and security. Our Dynamics 365 practice is growing, and we're after a Senior Developer who can own solution quality end-to-end while helping the team get sharper at using AI in the build itself. This role can be based flexibly across any of our New Zealand offices.

Success looks like solutions that ship clean, need little rework, and hold up in production. It means owning outcomes end-to-end catching risk early, keeping estimates honest, and coaching others up along the way. Delivery stays predictable because risks and trade-offs get flagged before they bite.

What you'll be doing

What you bring

You're a developer who takes real ownership, someone who holds a firm line on security, data integrity and clean architecture, but knows how to flex pragmatically when delivery genuinely calls for it. You raise technical concerns early and bring alternatives, not just objections. You're curious about AI-assisted development and have formed your own pragmatic views on what's genuinely useful versus hype, and you hold AI-generated code to the same bar as your own.

• Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, ideally including Dynamics AX 2012
• Confidence working across Integrations, OData and Data Management, Lifecycle Services, DevOps, Power Platform, SQL Server and MorphX
• A full SDLC background requirements through build, test, deploy and production support
• A track record of diagnosing and resolving complex production issues at the root cause, not just the symptom
• Experience mentoring developers through code review, pairing and knowledge sharing
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus relevant technical certifications
