Job summary

ZURU is seeking a Senior Designer for its Pet brands in Auckland City on-site. Lead design projects from concept to delivery across digital, print, motion, and in-store touchpoints, while mentoring junior designers.

The role requires 5–8+ years of design experience, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, and strong typography, layout, and color skills. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring brands to life and contribute fresh creative thinking.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years industry experience in a similar role
• A relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary level institute or similar
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Figma
• Illustration skills are an added advantage
• Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and 3D design such as Cinema 4D are an added advantage
• Design: Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, colour, and layout
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions
• Problem-Solving: Creative thinker with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to self‑manage
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Design & Content Creation: Design development across digital assets, print collateral and campaigns
• Briefs: Craft comprehensive creative briefs for in-house and external teams
• Prototypes + Mock Ups: Produce prototypes, mockups, and wireframes
• Project Management: Manage design projects from concept to completion
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet technical specs and brand guidelines
• Handle colour correction, grading, retouching for images and videos and audio with videos where required
• Packaging: Minor updates to existing packaging artwork
• Other tasks as assigned
• Team Coordination: Work with Design Director and Project Manager to ensure smooth workflows
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketers and stakeholders to deliver solutions
• Leadership Development: Mentor junior designers
• Project Leadership: Take the lead on design projects as needed
• Conceptualisation and Innovation: Lead brainstorming and propose creative solutions
• Creative Opportunities: Identify opportunities in the Pet vertical
