Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking a high-performing Senior Data Scientist (Internal title: Senior AI Engineering Specialist (Data Science)). You will be hands-on, building Data Science solutions and developing products from concept to production across the airline, as part of our Data Science team with a results‑oriented reputation.

You will lead analysis, design and deployment of DS initiatives, communicate with both technical and non‑technical audiences, and contribute to an exciting AI journey at

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist in a relevant field.
• Strong foundation of Python skills.
• Solid understanding of the mathematical and statistical principles behind data science and machine learning.
• Practical experience delivering valuable data science solutions within an enterprise environment.
• Experience developing machine learning and optimisation models using complex datasets.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
