Contact Energy (Te Mata Hiko) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help build and improve the data platform powering data squads across Aotearoa. You will work with experienced engineers on behind-the-scenes improvements, platform enhancements, and data pipelines that unlock trusted, scalable insights.

This is a fixed-term role until May 2027. We offer flexible working, a generous 4% KiwiSaver employer contribution, and a supportive environment that values collaboration and belonging.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering foundations with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience with Databricks and data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python, Spark familiarity.
• Comfort with Linux, Git, and troubleshooting in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced data engineers to implement platform improvements.
• Contribute to platform enhancements and unblock data squads.
• Help build reliable, scalable data platforms used across the business.
