Oranga Tamariki, Ministry for Children seeks a Senior Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to turn information into insights that drive decisions for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau. You will design data models and develop interactive Power BI dashboards from multiple data sources, translating findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
The role focuses on KPIs, deep-dive analysis, and delivering practical data solutions in collaboration with business and technology teams.

As our Senior Data & Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll work with data from multiple and sometimes unrelated sources, designing data models and developing interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that give leaders meaningful insight into organisational performance. You’ll undertake deep-dive analysis, identify trends and opportunities, and translate complex findings into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Key areas of focus include:
The role sits within Tamariki and Whānau Services group and reports to the Manager Business Optimisation. You’ll work across functions and with senior leaders, business owners, regional teams, EPMO and technology colleagues, giving you the opportunity to influence how data and technology are used across a complex national organisation.
You’ll be an experienced analyst with the technical depth to build solutions and the ability to communicate your insights clearly.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification or certification in data analysis, insights or reporting is highly desirable, alongside 4+ years’ relevant experience.

Oranga Tamariki offer a step-based remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $125,926 and $139,459 dependent on experience.
