MBIE seeks a Senior Data Analyst to join the Tourism Domain in the Data, Intelligence and Insights Branch. This fixed-term role supports the Tourism Data and Insights Work Programme, maintaining core tourism data, reporting, stakeholder engagement and data stewardship.

You will develop and improve tourism data products, dashboards and analytical tools across the full lifecycle from understanding user needs to delivery, emphasising accessible and usable information for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data management, analysis and visualisation.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.
• Experience developing dashboards and interactive analytical products using Power BI or similar tools.
• Three or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and improve tourism data products, dashboards and analytical tools across the full data product lifecycle.
• Translate user needs into practical analytical solutions and data products.
• Collaborate with MBIE and tourism sector colleagues to ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Deliver timely, stakeholder-focused reports and self-service analytics.
