Job summary

Otago Regional Council is seeking a Manager of Environmental Delivery Data and Systems to lead the Regulatory Data and Systems function. The role focuses on data quality, strategic leadership, and delivering efficient regulatory processes across Otago.

You will oversee a high-performing team, drive system improvements, and partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making for environmental management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's qualification in Environmental Management, Science, Information Science or related field with SQL reporting services.
• Significant leadership experience developing and supporting teams.
• Experience in local government.
• Experience leading process improvement, quality assurance or systems enhancement initiatives.
• Experience collecting and analysing environmental data.
• Strong communication, reporting and organisational skills.

Manager Environmental Delivery Data and Systems

Lead a high performing team and drive the future of environmental data and regulatory systems across Otago. Platinum Recruitment are supporting the Otago Regional Council (ORC) to find a manager Environmental Delivery Data and Systems. Through science, policy, consents, compliance and environmental monitoring, ORC works to support thriving communities and sustainable resource management across the region.

This role will lead the regulatory data and systems team and play an important role in ensuring ORC's environmental and regulatory data systems are efficient, accurate, and fit for the future.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across ORC's Regulatory Data and Systems function. Leading a team, you will encourage continuous improvement, innovation, high data quality management while supporting the effective delivery of ORC's regulatory activities.

This opportunity allows you to work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders, driving system improvements, strengthen data quality, and help ensure ORC has the information it needs to make informed decisions and deliver positive outcomes.

• Experience collecting and analysing environmental data
• Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills
