Job summary

Cooney Lees Morgan, a leading Tauranga law firm, seeks a lawyer with broad commercial and corporate law transactional/M&A experience. You will advise on business structures, draft and negotiate contracts, assist with due diligence and transactions, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with Partners and senior team members.

The role requires autonomous work, strong client networking, and a practical, detail‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

Broad experience in commercial and corporate law transactional/M&A work.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Willingness to mentor junior staff and share knowledge.
Strong client and colleague networking skills.
Excellent attention to detail in all work products.
Sound judgment and practical, common-sense approach.

Responsibilities

Advise on business structures, financing arrangements, company law issues and general commercial matters.
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts.
Assist with business and share sales, due diligence and other transaction work.
Collaborate with Partners and senior staff; work independently when required.
Mentor junior staff as needed.
