Vodafone New Zealand Limited is hiring a Core Network DevOps Principal Engineer to design, implement and support 24x7 operation of our Core Mobile and Fixed Data Network DevOps domains. You will drive improvements in capability, performance and reliability to elevate customer experience.

You will deliver cost-effective designs, provide engineering oversight, define metrics, and own roadmaps while ensuring changes pass testing and abide by change processes.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Core Data technologies in mobile and fixed data cores.
• Understanding of IMS, voice, messaging, IP transport and security.
• Strong knowledge of 3GPP and ETSI specifications.
• Experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages.
• Experience with virtualization and container platforms (VMware/OpenShift/OpenStack/Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to support Agile teams.

Responsabilités

• Deliver accurate, cost-effective network designs aligned with requirements.
• Provide technical oversight and design guidance to engineers.
• Define capacity and performance metrics with reporting.
• Own platform/domain roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Peer review designs to maintain quality and standards.
• Ensure changes follow network change processes and maintain integrity.
• Deliver changes on time with robust acceptance testing.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call roster as required.
• Resolve incidents within SLA targets and reduce incident volumes.
• Develop processes, automation and AI workflows to improve performance.
• Maintain network integrity through an active maintenance programme.
