Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Senior Manager Consumer Compliance for a six‑month fixed‑term parental leave cover. You will lead a team of compliance professionals and partner with Consumer leaders to provide strategic compliance advice and guidance on risk mitigation.

You will oversee compliance activities across responsible lending, financial advice and consumer products, manage incidents and remediation, and help embed risk controls.

Qualifications

• Strong experience within risk, compliance or financial services.
• Knowledge of consumer compliance and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of compliance professionals.
• Provide strategic advice and constructive challenge on compliance obligations and risk mitigation.
• Oversee compliance activity across responsible lending, financial advice and consumer products.
• Support the management of compliance incidents and breaches, including investigation, remediation and reporting.
• Help embed compliance frameworks and conduct risk controls across Consumer Banking.
• Monitor emerging compliance risks and regulatory change, helping the business understand and respond to their impact.
• Build strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders, including regulators.
• Partner with Consumer teams to embed compliance into products and service delivery.
• Represent Westpac in relevant industry and regulatory engagements.
