Job description

About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga

At Fonterra Te Mātāpuna, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.

Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co-operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution.

Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.

Fixed term though to September 2028

This is an opportunity to play an important role in a large-scale transformation programme, helping people understand and prepare for significant changes to the way they work.

Working closely with the Communications Lead, programme team and subject‑matter experts, you will turn complex information into clear, engaging and practical communications for a wide range of audiences. You will help people understand why the change is happening, what it means for them, what they need to do to get ready and where they can find support.

From developing communication plans and compelling content to coordinating communications across programme workstreams and channels, you will help create a consistent programme voice and deliver communications that build understanding, confidence and readiness for change.

You are an experienced communications professional who thrives in fast‑paced, complex environments and enjoys helping people understand and adapt to change.

You have a talent for turning complex information into clear, relevant and engaging communications that help people understand what is changing, why it matters and what they need to do. Whether you're developing key messages, writing content, creating communication plans or advising stakeholders, you bring a practical, audience‑focused approach and a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.

You build trusted relationships quickly and work effectively with leaders, subject‑matter experts and cross‑functional teams to shape communication approaches and influence outcomes. You're comfortable working across multiple priorities, bringing sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail to everything you do.

You'll bring experience delivering end‑to‑end communication and engagement activities within large organisations, ideally supporting business transformation, organisational change or major programmes. You are confident using a range of communication channels and digital tools, and you understand how to tailor messages for different audiences to maximise understanding and engagement.

You are also comfortable using insights, data and feedback to measure effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement and continuously strengthen communication outcomes. Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Copilot, Marketing Cloud, Analytics and Clipchamp will be an advantage.
