S&L Land Specialists in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, seeks a Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer - CPEng to lead our civil and environmental engineering operations. You will oversee complex projects, mentor junior staff, and drive technical excellence across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Must hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or be able to achieve it within a reasonable timeframe.
• Minimum 10+ years of professional civil and/or environmental engineering experience.
• Experience leading complex civil and environmental projects and mentoring staff.
• Strong knowledge of NZ building codes, resource management legislation, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to supervise, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and environmental engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Provide senior technical oversight on geotechnical, structural, and environmental assessments.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Prepare and review detailed designs, specs, and technical documentation.
• Engage with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulators to meet project objectives.
• Conduct site inspections to assess environmental and civil conditions.
• Identify innovative, cost-effective, sustainable engineering solutions.
• Uphold health, safety, and environmental best practices on all projects.
• Support business development and tender submissions.
