Pinnacles Civil in Rolleston is seeking a senior civil engineer to lead transportation and infrastructure projects from concept to delivery. The role emphasizes strong client relationships, technical leadership, and hands-on delivery within a supportive consultancy environment.

You’ll have 8+ years of experience, a Civil Engineering qualification, and the opportunity to mentor junior engineers while ensuring quality outcomes and high safety standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in civil engineering or project management within a consultancy.
• Civil Engineering qualification; CPEng accreditation is a bonus.
• Experience delivering transportation, roading, land development or three waters projects.
• Proven ability managing projects from inception through to completion and engaging clients.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on health and safety.

About the role:

This is a senior, hands‑on position where you'll lead the delivery of transportation and civil infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.

Coming from a consultancy background, you'll be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, providing technical leadership and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard. Experience with road maintenance projects will be highly regarded, as this forms an important part of our workload.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering transportation and civil engineering design projects.
• Managing projects from planning through to completion, including programmes, contracts and client relationships.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients while supporting future business opportunities.
• Mentoring and developing junior engineers across the business.
• Ensuring quality outcomes while maintaining a strong commitment to health and safety.

About You:

You're an experienced engineering professional who enjoys building strong client relationships just as much as delivering quality technical outcomes. You thrive in a consultancy environment, understand the importance of collaboration, and take pride in delivering practical solutions for your clients.

You will ideally bring:

• 8 or more years experience in civil engineering or project management within a consultancy environment.
• A Civil Engineering qualification —CPEng accreditation is a definite bonus.
• Experience delivering transportation, roading, land development or three waters projects.
• Previous involvement in road maintenance projects.
• Proven experience managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently engage clients, contractors and internal teams.
