Job summary

Barnett in Nelson is seeking fit, strong carpenters and joiners for 3 roles on current projects. The position is full-time and permanent with 30–45 hours per week, offering hourly wages between NZD 28 and 30.

You will perform raft foundation tasks, operate hand and power tools, prepare and remove formwork, and contribute to site safety and timely project progression. Applicants should have carpentry/construction experience and good English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Carpentry and Builder or Construction Labouring.
• Must have experience in building, joinery, formwork and concreting.
• Competency in English is required; strong verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Applicants must be skilled with standard building and construction tools and safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload building materials and distribute them at the work site or shed.
• Mark outs for excavation and prepare profiles for plumbers.
• Drive steel pins, screw braces, and manage formwork removal when concrete is placed.
• Backfill holes, dig trenches, and keep sites tidy for the next stage.
• Maintain safety and PPE compliance on site.
