Job summary

Barnett is seeking fit, strong carpenters/joiners for three roles on current projects in Nelson. The positions are full-time and permanent with a minimum of 30 hours and up to 45 hours per week. You will operate hand and power tools, assist with formwork, set out, boxing, tying steel, placing pods and mesh, and ensure site safety and tidy work areas.

English communication and teamwork required. Experience: minimum 3 years in carpentry or construction labour; ideal 5+ years; drug testing may be

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in Carpentry, Builder or Construction Labouring.
• Competency in English with good verbal and written communication.
• Experience in building, joinery, formwork and concreting.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload materials and distribute them to locations on site or at the work shed.
• Mark outs for excavation and prepare profiles for plumbers.
• Operate hand and power tools and assist with formwork setup and removal.
• Screw braces and rebates to planks and place reinforcing materials.
• Keep sites clean and safe, passing to the next stage of construction.
