Job summary

Jacobs in New Zealand is seeking a Principal Bridge Engineer to lead technical direction across major bridge and transport structures. You’ll shape project outcomes, review designs, sign off producer statements, and mentor the team while working with clients and constructors to deliver innovative, cost-efficient solutions.

This role covers roads, rail, water, power, and energy with a strong seismic design requirement.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification with CPEng status.
• Proven seismic design experience to NZ Bridge Manual.
• Auckland Council design sign-off is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of bridge engineering and horizontal infrastructure.
• Proven excellence and diverse project experience.
• Ability to collaborate with constructors to deliver cost-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review and challenge designs, providing expert guidance and sign-offs.
• Collaborate with design teams, clients and contractors on projects.
• Sign off on producer statements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Support multidisciplinary teams across roads, rail, water, and energy.
