Job summary

Randstad New Zealand is seeking a hands-on Senior Quality Engineer with strong performance testing, automation, and DevSecOps experience. You will own software quality across high-impact projects, defining test strategies and building scalable automation within a modern CI/CD pipeline.

The role requires 5+ years in QA/automation, proficiency with major tools, and excellent communication to guide client transformations within NZ financial services, government, or enterprise digital programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in senior software testing or QA consulting roles.
• Proficient in Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium and major programming languages.
• Experience embedding security checks into CI/CD pipelines and working in DevSecOps.
• NZ Financial Services, Government, Insurance, or Enterprise Digital Transformation programs experience in NZ.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Quality Engineer experience in Performance testing , Automation & DevSecOps to take ownership of software quality across high-impact projects. In this role, you will define test strategies, build scalable automation frameworks, and maintain top-tier application performance inside a modern DevSecOps pipeline.

DUTIES

• Lead end-to-end quality strategy, test architecture, and quality governance for client engagements.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Plan and execute performance, load, and stress testing to ensure systems scale securely and efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with Development, Security, and Ops teams to embed security and quality controls early in the SDLC.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years in senior software testing or QA consulting roles.
• Strong proficiency in frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium, plus proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid hands-on experience with tools like JMeter, k6, or Gatling.
• Deep familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and embedding security checks into automated pipelines.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and frameworks.(added advantage)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to guide clients through quality transformations.
• Experience working within Financial Services, Government, Insurance, or Enterprise Digital Transformation programmes in NZ.
