Job summary

Grant Thornton New Zealand is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead engagements from planning to completion. You will liaise with Partners and Directors, build client relationships, and guide junior staff while ensuring compliance with IFRS and auditing standards.

You will work across diverse industries, analyze risks, and contribute to improving internal controls and financial reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in external auditing.
  • Proficient with IFRS standards.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team of junior auditors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Solid organisation and time management.
  • Experience managing multiple audits simultaneously.
  • Ability to have fun

About the role

You will work closely with experienced Managers, Directors and Partners across a variety of industry sectors, liaising directly with the clients and supervising more junior team members. You will build strong relationships with clients and ask questions that cut to the heart of their business to understand the risk, responding with technical expertise, intuition and insight.
