Job summary

PwC New Zealand in Auckland is seeking an experienced audit professional to join our Assurance team as a Senior Manager. The role leads complex external audits, manages client relationships, and contributes to the growth of our Assurance practice.

You will guide teams, champion audit quality, and influence how we work across a collaborative environment. You will bring 7+ years of external audit experience, strong technical knowledge, and a commercial mindset, with the ability to develop talent

Qualifications

• 7+ years extensive external audit experience within a professional services environment, supported by strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting.
• Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to lead complex engagements with senior stakeholders.
• Experience across industries including manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, real estate, consumer markets or tech is advantageous.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex matters into practical insights.
• A passion for leading and developing people and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
• Strong project management and organisational skills to balance budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Leading complex statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery quality and risk management.
• Build public trust through high-quality financial statement audits that enhance transparency.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and provide practical, value-adding insights.
• Lead, coach and empower high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive culture.
• Champion the use of technology, data-driven insights to improve audit quality and efficiency.
• Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the Auckland Assurance practice.
