Grant Thornton New Zealand is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead engagements and deliver high quality financial reporting for diverse clients in Auckland. You will work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers, supervising junior staff and building strong client relationships.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of client operations, evaluate internal controls and ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements while mentoring team members and contributing to

Qualifications

• 3+ years of external auditing experience.
• Proficient with IFRS standards.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and standards.
• Experience managing multiple audits simultaneously.
• Solid organisation and time management.
• Professional certification (CA, CPA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop a detailed understanding of clients' business operations, processes, and financial reporting systems.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support.
• Collaborate with clients to address their business challenges and help them achieve their objectives.
• Stay updated with the latest industry regulations and standards.
