Senior Artificial Intelligence Developer
We're looking for a Senior Artificial Intelligence Developer who brings a strong combination of machine learning expertise and software engineering capability to design and deliver practical, AI-enabled tools that support engineering and technical teams across Beca. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is equally comfortable building and deploying production-grade software as they are developing and applying machine learning models, and who is ready to broaden their scope, take on more responsibility, and step into a more senior delivery role.
You’ll work closely with engineering business users, digital specialists, and data teams to iterate on high-value use cases and transform them into scalable, production-ready solutions. Success in this role requires the ability to bridge the gap between experimentation and implementation—taking machine learning concepts and embedding them into robust, maintainable software systems. Your work will span areas such as document intelligence, engineering automation, computer vision, machine learning, AI-augmented verification, and compliance support, giving you exposure to a wide range of real-world engineering problems and applied AI use cases.
You will operate in a highly agile environment, often working across multiple projects simultaneously and adopting a fail-fast, iterative approach. You’ll apply the right tools and frameworks for each use case, ranging from Python (SciKit-learn and broader ML libraries) through to C# and agent frameworks, as well as Power BI, low-code and pro-code environments such as Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio. Critically, this role requires someone who can engineer end-to-end solutions—from data handling and model development through to software integration, deployment, and lifecycle management. The problems you’ll work on are as diverse as the toolset, including unstructured data extraction and retrieval, automation workflows, ML model training, AI agents, and more.
As you grow in the role, you’ll strengthen your ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex machine learning and engineering concepts into clear, usable outcomes. Through this work, you’ll help build and mature Beca’s applied AI capability, while establishing yourself as a well-rounded AI practitioner with deep expertise across both machine learning and software development, contributing to responsible, real-world solutions across our business.
