Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an experienced banking professional to support high‑net‑worth clients with residential lending and sophisticated borrowing requirements. You will leverage private wealth knowledge across banking, lending, investments and wealth solutions to deliver tailored outcomes for clients and their families.

You will work with a Private Associate team to ensure coordinated service, helping clients achieve financial goals while aligning with Westpac’s broader wealth

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in banking, private banking, wealth management, financial services, or relationship banking.
  • Level 5 Financial Services Qualification preferred or open to obtaining.
  • Ability to interpret and translate technical material including financial statements.
  • Customer-centric attitude and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients with residential lending and complex borrowing needs.
  • Collaborate with Westpac specialists to deliver tailored wealth solutions and banking services.

Mō te Tūranga – About the role

You will bring strong lending expertise and be confident supporting clients with residential lending and more complex borrowing requirements. You'll draw on your understanding of the broader Private Wealth proposition, including banking, lending, investments and wealth solutions, to deliver exceptional outcomes for high-net-worth clients and their families. You will work with your own Private Associate/Senior Private Associate, fostering an operating rhythm that ensures you are supporting each other to meet your client’s needs.

Within the role, you will take a holistic approach to understanding your clients' financial goals, helping them build, manage, protect and grow their wealth over time. Working closely with specialists across Westpac, you will deliver tailored solutions that support both their immediate banking needs and long‑term aspirations.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? – What do I need to be successful?
  • 5+ years' experience in banking, private banking, wealth management, financial services, or relationship banking, with strong experience in lending and customer relationship management
  • A relevant tertiary qualification preferred. Level 5 Financial Services Qualification required or open to obtaining.
  • Ability to interpret and translate technical material Including financial statements.
  • A customer centric attitude.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills as well as networking abilities both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated a strong in market approach with a proven ability to identify opportunities.
