Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Android developer to design, build, and support native Android applications across multiple brands. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver secure, scalable mobile solutions and collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure best-in-class Android experiences.

The role requires deep knowledge of Java/Kotlin, design patterns, testing, and modern CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Android development (Java/Kotlin).
• Experience collaborating with UX designers.
• Experience consuming JSON web services via HTTP.
• Familiar with unit/UI testing and static code analysis.
• Knowledge of MVC/MVVM design patterns.
• Ability to document technical designs for the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight within a small development team, including code reviews, mentoring, and ensuring consistent engineering standards.
• Design and develop high-quality native Android applications.
• Collaborate with UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver new features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.
• Maintain and improve existing applications.
• Champion testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
