Job summary

Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) in Auckland is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join the Mobile Platform Team. You will shape how BNZ builds and delivers mobile banking experiences, working across Android tooling, CI/CD pipelines and platform quality.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, advance Kotlin-based apps, implement modern Android architectures and promote AI tooling to improve efficiency and reliability for BNZ customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and maintaining Android apps with Kotlin and some Java.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Material Design, and end-to-end mobile lifecycle.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and modern development tools.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable Android apps using Kotlin and Android Studio.
• Improve Android build pipelines and CI/CD performance.
• Maintain and upgrade the Android platform across mobile apps.
• Promote AI tooling and ideas within the Android community.
• Support BAU with monitoring, testing, and incident triage.
