Job summary

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand – Te Pūtea Matua is seeking a Director of Prudential Supervision in Auckland to lead frontline prudential supervision and set the strategy for a modern, risk-based supervisory function aligned with financial stability objectives.

You will engage with senior leaders, boards, regulated entities and government agencies, build high-performing teams, and advance cross-functional programmes while living our values.

Qualifications

• Senior leader with experience in prudential supervision, financial regulation or risk management.
• Led frontline regulatory functions and delivered risk-based outcomes.
• Capability to engage senior leaders and regulators on complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Shape Te Pūtea Matua's strategic priorities as a trusted Leadership Team member.
• Lead frontline prudential supervision of licensed deposit takers and insurers with risk-based, proportionate decisions.
• Modernise and strengthen prudential supervision through group-wide strategies and programmes.
• Model leadership by living our values and developing high-performing teams.
• Build constructive relationships with regulated entities, agencies and stakeholders.
