Job summary

Re-Leased is building am:pm, an AI-powered SaaS platform for commercial real estate. We are seeking a senior quality automation engineer to own the quality system for am:pm, based in Napier or remotely from another NZ city.

You will design automation, establish quality controls, and drive AI-enabled testing across the squad, while embracing continuous delivery and a fast feedback loop with real customers. As part of a small, agile team within a larger SaaS business, you will shape the test

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience in a SaaS product environment, with automation at the centre of how you work.
• Track record of designing test automation frameworks from the ground up and building JavaScript/TypeScript end-to-end suites (e.g. Playwright, Cypress).
• Comfortable in a production codebase with Git, branches, PRs, code review and ability to read code to locate surface under test.
• CI/CD fluent with understanding of pipeline gates, smoke checks, and rollback signals for safe continuous delivery.
• Actively using AI tools in your workflow today and opinions on where they're strong or weak.
• Genuine interest in testing AI products and non-deterministic systems; evals excite you.
• Strong exploratory testing instincts and test-pyramid judgment; know where automation pays off.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and making calls with incomplete information in small, early-stage teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality automation across the test pyramid and steward the end-to-end suite.
• Support the move to continuous delivery with appropriate automated quality controls.
• Use AI tooling as a first-class part of your workflow: test generation, triage, and data creation.
• Curate AI-generated tests and findings, applying your testing judgment.
• Shape how we test AI-powered features and contribute adversarial and edge-case scenarios.
• Collaborate with engineers on acceptance criteria and design test scenarios from a user perspective.
• Run exploratory and risk-based testing and feed production bugs back into automation.
• Analyze quality workflows and drive improvements with clear quality signals.
