Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Emergency Management or equivalent knowledge/experience.
• Significant experience in operational readiness or emergency response environments (EOC/ECC/NCC).
• Knowledge of natural hazards.
• Experience in persuading and building collaborative relationships.
• Think strategically about operational advice.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support initiatives to strengthen emergency readiness and response capability.
• Provide operational subject matter expertise and improve response arrangements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance NZ's preparedness for emergencies.
• Contribute to National Operations programmes and National Crisis Management Centre readiness.
