Job summary

LANTRO (S) PTE. LTD. in New Zealand Otago invites applications for a senior accountant role supporting the Finance Manager to review payments, journal entries, staff claims, and schedules.

You will help ensure the month-end reporting package prepared by GL staff is accurate and complete. Each year, you will liaise with the tax consultant to submit corporate tax on time and assist with audit requests and draft audited financial statements.

Job Summary

This newly created role supports the Finance Manager in reviewing payments, journal entries, staff claims, and schedules. The candidate is responsible to ensure month-end reporting package (in Excel) prepared by the GL staff is correct and complete. Yearly, the senior accountant is responsible to liaise with the tax consultant to ensure that the company corporate tax are submitted on time. To assist with audit queries and preparation of draft audited financial statement.

Responsibilities

• Review payments to confirm accuracy and compliance with company policies, ensuring financial integrity


• Verify journal entries for correctness and proper documentation to maintain accurate accounting records


• Examine staff claims for completeness and adherence to company guidelines to prevent errors and fraud


• Check schedules for accuracy and alignment with financial records to support reliable reporting


• Assist in preparing the month-end reporting package using Excel to enable timely and accurate financial close


• Liaise with tax consultants annually to ensure corporate tax submissions are completed on time


• Support audit processes by addressing audit queries and preparing draft audited financial statements
