Gallagher Security in Hamilton, New Zealand, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Security team and contribute to the software powering Gallagher's globally recognised security solutions. This hands-on development role focuses on delivering high-quality code, collaborating with product and engineering teams, and supporting complex customer challenges across global operations.

A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is preferred, with >3 years in commercial development

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commercial software development experience
• Strong C# and/or C++ development skills
• Experience with SQL databases
• Experience using source control and modern development tools
• Knowledge of testing practices including automated and unit testing
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience working collaboratively within a software development team
• Proactive approach to learning and delivering quality outcomes

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features
• Break down, estimate, and deliver development tasks within an agile environment
• Support existing products through troubleshooting, debugging, and problem resolution
• Contribute to technical design discussions and recommend solutions to complex challenges
• Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Analyse system performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, testers, and product stakeholders
• Continuously develop your technical knowledge and contribute to team improvement initiatives
