Job summary

Red Badge Group is seeking a proactive Security Site Supervisor to lead our team at The Palms Shopping Centre in Christchurch. You will oversee daily security operations, coordinate patrols, manage incidents, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for shoppers, retailers and staff.

The role requires a NZ COA security licence (or eligibility), prior security supervisory experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• NZ COA security licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience in a security supervisory, team leader or senior role.
• Retail or public-facing security experience is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and decisive in challenging situations.
• Good observation, problem-solving and incident management abilities.
• Physically capable of regular patrols and standing for shifts.
• Willingness to work rostered mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand and 18+.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and supervise security personnel across The Palms Shopping Centre.
• Maintain a professional, visible and approachable security presence throughout the site.
• Coordinate daily operations including patrols, access control, incident response and site coverage.
• Run shift briefs and handovers to ensure continuity of service.
• Monitor attendance, presentation, performance and compliance with site procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and suspicious activity.
• Collaborate with centre management, retailers, contractors and emergency services.
• Complete accurate incident and daily activity reports.
• Escalate incidents and hazards and follow through to resolution.
• Coach and develop team members through feedback and on-the-job support.
