Job summary

Millennium Services Group seeks a professional Security Officer to help maintain a safe, welcoming Invercargill site. This part-time role combines patrols, incident response and frontline customer service to protect people and property.

You will hold a valid Security Licence, COA, First Aid/CPR, MOJ background clearance, and have NZ working rights, with availability for day, night and weekend shifts. Training and development are provided within a supported team.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Licence.
• Certificate of Approval (COA) required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• MOJ background check clearance.
• Previous security experience is preferred.
• Availability for day/night and weekday/weekend shifts.
• Good physical fitness and ability to patrol.

Security Officer – Part-Time

Location: Invercargill Central

About The Role

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while delivering a high standard of customer service. This role involves a mix of patrols, incident response, and client-facing duties.

Positions available: Part-time

Hourly rate: $26.00

Roster

Wednesday-Thursday: 1600 - 2400

Sunday: 0845 - 1600

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets
• Provide a professional and approachable security presence
• Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance
• Identify and assess risks, taking appropriate action in line with procedures
• Adhere to all site and company security protocols
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A valid Security Licence
• Certificate of Approval (COA) is required
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Must pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check
• Previous security experience (retail experience highly regarded)
• Availability to work day/night and weekday/weekend shifts
• Good physical fitness, as patrols are required
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• A reliable and punctual work history
• Full New Zealand working rights
