Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an Information Security Engineer to protect technology environments and customer data. The role focuses on vulnerability management, risk assessment, and deploying security solutions across a complex enterprise.

You will work hands-on with security platforms, collaborate with internal teams and vendors, and contribute to platform upgrades and security maturity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cyber security or information security engineering role.
• Experience managing a range of cyber security tools such as AV, EDR, MFA, and DLP.
• Knowledge of network technologies and core networking concepts.
• Exposure to security technologies including email security, firewalls, URL filtering, and malware protection.
• Experience with security platforms such as SIEM, PKI infrastructure, or related tooling.
• Experience working in structured change environments using tools such as ServiceNow or similar.
• Understanding of ITIL aligned change, incident, and problem management practices.
• Exposure to Windows or Linux operating systems and scripting or coding languages.

Responsibilities

• Protect Westpac New Zealand's technology environment and data assets.
• Identify vulnerabilities, assess and manage risk, and respond to threats.
• Maintain and enhance cyber security tools; support deployment of new solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to uplift cyber security maturity.
• Perform hands-on, operational security work to safeguard systems, people and customers.
