Suncrest Orchard is hiring a bird controller to protect crops from birds across the orchard. You will use drones, gas guns, shooting, trapping and noise-making devices to minimize damage and protect yields.

The role operates on a 6-on/1-off roster with two shifts (6am–1:30pm and 1:30pm–9pm). A current NZ Firearms license is required, and teamwork and reliability are essential. Seasonal fixed-term contract with accommodation options available.

Formación

• You hold a current NZ Firearms license.
• Experience operating quad bikes / 4WD or motorbikes is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Limit crop damage from birds on the orchard.
• Operate drones, gas guns, shooting, trapping, robots and related noise-making activities.
• Work on a roster with 6 days on and 1 day off in two shifts (6:00–13:30, 13:30–21:00).

About the role

We employ a small team for bird control with the first team members starting in early / mid-November and the final team members joining in early December.

As a bird controller youare taskedwith limiting crop damage from birds. We use a variety of methods including drones, gas guns, shooting, trapping, robotsand driving around making noise. The bird control teamoperate on a roster with 6 days on and one day off - working on a 2 shift pattern: 6am-1:30pm and 1:30-9pm
