Job summary

Stats NZ is recruiting for a fixed-term Tetūnga role based in Christchurch. You will lead Agile delivery across multiple workstreams, shaping a high-performance, self-organising team and partnering with product owners, architects, analysts and senior stakeholders.

You will champion Agile practices, remove barriers, and drive continuous improvement and value delivery in a complex environment. This Christchurch-based role runs until 30 June 2027 and offers a starting salary in the disclosed range

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Nexus, Scrum-of-Scrums or other scaled Agile frameworks.
  • Skilled coach building high-performing, self-organising teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication across levels.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and dependency management across streams.
  • Experience using delivery metrics and insights to support decisions.
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for value delivery.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to Māori responsiveness.

The role |Tetūnga

This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2027 based in Christchurch.

Working alongside Product Owners, architects, analysts, engineers, data specialists and senior stakeholders, you'll champion Agile ways of working, remove barriers to success, and empower teams to deliver high-value outcomes. What you bring |Nōuterourou

  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Nexus, Scrum-of-Scrums or other scaled Agile frameworks.

Starting salary for this position:$90,599- $122,575+kiwisaver
