We're looking for an aspiring scientific writer or learning designer to join our Content team this summer. In this role, you'll directly impact the accessibility of our Lt learning platform, ensuring that our life sciences content is equitable and inclusive for students worldwide. You won't just be writing alternative text descriptions for our Lt Content, you'll be building a crucial skill set in digital accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and experience working in a professional EdTech content development. You'll be fully supported by our experienced content team as you translate complex scientific images into text descriptions for vision-impaired students.

The Team

We value diversity of all kinds, and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where we learn from each other. Our team is collaborative and curious and loves working on new, innovative changes to our products. You'll be joining a team who love to deliver value to our customers. We're excited to welcome you this summer and introduce you to the ADInstruments culture of passionate people who love science, learning and creating world-class products.

The Business

At ADI we are making science easier. We're a leader in our field and have the team to make it happen. We are passionate about science and technology and finding solutions to the global health trilemma - reducing the burden of chronic disease and expanding healthcare capacity.

You will be part of a company that prides itself on global collaboration and its inclusive employee culture. At ADI you will have the opportunity to work within a flexible, hybrid working environment with the Dunedin office located in the heart of a modern cafe precinct. You will have ample opportunity for learning and development, and have hands on support.

Skills and Experience

This internship is open to students who are currently studying, or have just completed, a tertiary qualification in Undergraduate Science (minimum 2nd year student). We are a collaborative team, so you should feel comfortable working and contributing within a group context, managing your time and working towards a common goal.

We're excited about you because you'll bring:

  • Some knowledge of, or a desire to learn, the following skills and tools:
    • Accessibility standards
    • Scientific writing skills
    • A considerate, pragmatic, and organised approach to your work.

These skills aren't a requirements checklist. If you have only some of the above but would also bring something additional to our team, we'd love to talk!
