Job summary

Wesley Primary School in Auckland, North Island, is inviting applications for Scale A teachers to join our Takahē team for Years 1/2. We have two positions and welcome beginning teachers who are passionate about supporting tamariki in an equity‑focused, relational neuroscience framework.

We emphasise play‑based learning, strong relationships with ākonga and whānau, and collaboration across teams to deliver engaging, inclusive learning aligned with the NZ Curriculum.

Qualifications

• Is reflective, culturally sustaining, and committed to equity in education.
• Understands relational neuroscience, is committed to the practice, and engages in ongoing professional growth within this kaupapa.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences aligned with the refreshed NZ Curriculum and our local curriculum.
• Collaborate within and across teams to support smooth transitions and coherent learning pathways.
• Utilise classroom data to run agile teaching sprints for target student groups.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher

Suitable for beginning teachers

Nestled in the heart of Wesley, Puketāpapa, our kura is guided by our vision Ki te mārama and our values of Manaakitanga, Kaitiakitanga, and Whakamana. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Scale A teacher to join our Takahē team - Year 1/2.

We are looking for someone who:
