Job summary

Raureka School in Hawke's Bay, NZ, is seeking two enthusiastic, committed kaiako to join the team in 2027. The roles are permanent, full-time and likely within the junior team (Years 1–8).

Qualifications

• Must hold teacher registration/certification in New Zealand.
• Experience building relationships with tamariki and whānau.
• Strong knowledge of literacy and mathematics curriculum.

• Collaborate with kaiako and staff to support student wellbeing and achievement.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

We are looking for two enthusiastic, committed kaiako to join our Raureka School team in 2027.

At Raureka School, our vision is to develop confident, connected, curious tamariki who strive for personal excellence. We are a welcoming and inclusive kura where relationships matter, and our values of Respect, Responsibility, Relationships and Resilience are at the heart of what we do.

These positions are likely to be within our junior team, so we would especially love to hear from teachers who enjoy working with younger learners and understand the importance of building strong foundations in both learning and wellbeing.

We are looking for kaiako who:

• build warm, positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues
• create engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environments
• have strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, particularly in literacy and mathematics
• use culturally responsive practices that value the identity, language and culture of our tamariki
• work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team
• are reflective, open to feedback and keen to continue growing their practice
• bring energy, initiative and a good sense of humour
• are willing to contribute to the wider life of our kura
