Number One Shoes + Hannahs in Greymouth is seeking a Sales Assistant for a fixed term period from October 1 to 31 January 2027. The role is 16.5 hours per week, with shifts on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to support customer experience and store performance.

You will assist customers, maintain displays, handle POS transactions, stock replenishment, and daily store duties while contributing to a positive team environment and Tahua Group’s values.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is a bonus, but not essential.
• Flexible to work weekends/public holidays.
• Positive attitude, energy, and a love for helping people.
• Ability to engage with customers and share product knowledge.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.

The Role

We’re looking for a Sales Assistant to join our Greymouth Hannahs team for a fixed term period from October 1 to 31 January 2027.

Hours: 16.5 hours per week (Monday: 10:00-17:00, Thursday: 11:30-14:30, Friday: 11:30-14:30, Saturday: 10:00-14:00)

In this role, you'll :

• Help customers find the right products and sizes, providing a friendly, welcoming experience every day.
  
• Maintain store standards, keeping displays tidy, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
  
• Support operational tasks including point-of-sale transactions, stock replenishment, and daily store duties.
• Contribute to team goals, helping the store succeed and supporting your colleagues.

What You’ll Deliver in This Role:

• Customer Experience & Sales: Deliver our “Every Day Great Experience” (EDGE) by engaging customers, identifying needs, and providing tailored advice. Achieve personal and team sales targets while upselling and maximising the customer experience.
  
• Store Presentation & Standards: Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented store. Ensure merchandise is stocked, displays are attractive, and promotions are executed accurately.
  
• Operational Support: Assist with stock, deliveries, and transfers. Follow cash-handling procedures and store security practices. Support opening and closing duties as required .
  
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely with your Store Manager, Assistant Manager, and team members. Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
