Job summary

Number One Shoes + Hannahs in Lower Hutt is seeking a Key Holder for a fixed-term period from 3 November 2026 to 7 July 2027. This leadership role blends hands-on customer service with responsibility for the smooth running of the store.

You’ll lead shifts, coach others, open and close the store, and ensure every customer has an Every Day Great Experience (EDGE).

Hours are 36.75 per week with a Sunday start and a sequence of weekday shifts.

Qualifications

• At least one year of retail or customer-facing experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach and support others.
• Reliable with ownership of store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts on the floor, allocating tasks and supporting the team to meet sales targets and KPIs.
• Open and close the store, maintain security, and ensure a clean, well-presented store.
• Coach Sales Assistants and onboard new team members, embedding best practices.

TheRole

We’relooking for a Key Holder to join our Lower Hutt team for a fixed term period between 3 November 2026 to 7 July 2027. Hours& Location

• Hours: 36.75 hours per week (Sunday: 9:45-17:30, Monday: 9:00-17:45, Tuesday: 9:00-17:30, Wednesday: 10:00-16:00, Thursday: 11:00-19:15)

WhatYou’ll Deliver in This Role

• Customer Experience & Sales: You’ll deliver exceptional customerservice every shift, greeting and assisting customers, resolving queries, andpromoting add-on sales. You’ll also role model great service for the team,coaching and supporting in the moment as needed.
• Store Operations & Standards: You’ll be responsible for opening andclosing the store, maintaining security, and ensuring the store is clean,well-presented, and safe. This includes merchandising, stock presentation, cashhandling, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Leadership & Shift Management: You’ll lead shifts on the floor,allocating tasks, managing breaks, supporting decision-making, and helping theteam achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Team Development & Support: You’ll coach Sales Assistants, supportnew team members, embed best practices, recognise great performance, andescalate any concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: You’ll handle customerescalations and operational challenges, ensuring issues are resolved promptlyand efficiently.
